Austria Axamer Lizum Venue for the Winter Olympics in 1964 and again in 1976, Axamer Lizum has a reputation for excellent snow conditions and magnificent scenery, and is home to the Magic Mountains. The area is well suited to the needs of a school group with excellent progression opportunities from the nursery runs. It is also great fun for expert skiers with challenging mogul runs and the opportunity to ski an Olympic downhill course. The traditional and picturesque village of Axams, located on a sunny plateau above the Inn valley, but below the ski area, can be skied back down to from the Axamer Lizum ski area. It has good off-slope facilities including a leisure centre with two indoor pools and a white water rapids slide. The resort is near the beautiful Tyrolean capital Innsbruck, the only major city in the European Alps, which offers an unbeatable combination of culture, history and nature. |
